I don't think the counsellor know what that disease is all about. my uncle just died of it about 2 years ago...and it has absolutely nothing to do with communication. it has to do with deteriorating muscles. they deteriorate until you have no strength left, not even enough for your heart to pump. so don't take it too seriously, your counsellor is a dumb ass!

That is so wrong on so many levels, but at least he/ she didn't say you have the sexual prowess of a quadriplegic.

No therapy professional should outwardly insult a patient.. Especially when doing so encourages a gang-up mentality. -_- just because they're "licensed professionals" doesn't mean they're good at what they practice.

Agreed. It's not in their right to insult their patients. I've been in therapy for years and if my therapist or psychiatrist insulted me I'd be asking for a new one. That isn't in their job description. And that particular insult is just disgusting.

I'm incredibly offended by this. Lou Gehrigs is a horible horrible disease that runs heavily in my family. We've had 5 deaths in the last 50 years, including my big sister just last year. This "doctor" should have their license revoked.
