Today, my soon-to-be stepson, 13, decided that he and I needed to spend "more quality time" together. His idea? We should start "bonding" by taking a bath together. When I said no, he told me I was being unfair, and that if I really loved him, I'd do it. FML

What the hell is wrong with him? That's nasty.

Just tell him you don't love him and you plan to be his evil stepmother like in "Cinderella". Then tell him to mop the floor, do the laundry, and wash the dishes. Bibbidee bobbidee boo!

Am I the ONLY person who thinks this might be a ploy to try and get his future-stepfather to be an ex-future-stepfather? Think about it... if he hates the guy, then doing something inappropriate, and claiming abuse would make his mother not want to marry him. (I know there's confusion about OP's gender, but just go with it.) I know it's a little out there, but it's possible.

Soundly like you have a future therapist in the works.

At 4 or 5, that would be one thing. At 13?!? I think something is up, and needs looked at. Wouldn't surprise me if he has been sexually abused. If not, something else is messes up with him

I would call my puberty abuse. Don't have one to blame though for it.

I get at 13, puberty should have taken over a boy, but even with that considered, I would highly doubt a kid would be THAT open, to straight up say to a woman (if that's what the OP is) something along those lines. Hell, at 13, there are boys, while raging hormones, are still a little shy to ask a girl out to a middle school dance.
