i would charge them extra for every hour over thats not right of them to only pay you for the hours they orginially said when they were out longer .
4am? Kids should be in bed asleep so basically you're getting paid to watch tv or play on your phone. No sympathy here. Wish I got paid to sit on FML
If she has school or work the next morning, she probably doesn't want to stay up past 4am for any reason.
Make them pay you more and don't sit for them again.
Maybe 12 pm?
I babysat twenty five Jewish devils once. It was terrifying.
I'd tell them, and any future "employers" that you have a strict policy: however much more PER hour past whatever time you decide, an extra $10 fee if not contacted regarding being back much later than planned, and that if you are required to stay the entire night that you expect to be paid a flat rate, and if there's more than one child each additional child to be cared for past midnight is an extra $5-$10 (per hour or something of the sort). Don't be afraid to speak up about it. When I baby sat, I let the parents walk all over me. Now that I'm older I know better and not afraid to speak my mind. Though certain circumstances may prevent a parent from contacting you, If it's not a legit reason :being arrested phone truly died and car stolen, etc then there's no reason they couldn't be courteous enough to call you claiming they'd be back later than expected - or at least send a text!
Demand a Raise, or charge by the hour
Get paid for over-time
Don't babysit for them again. And drop them off your cv.

Let's hope these parents are fine. If they are, demand the right payment for the extra hours.
I hope it was just a mistake, and that they pay you a little bit of compensation for your troubles OP! Oh, and you could always raid the fridge if not.
