I have 8 brothers, partly because my mother kept trying for a girl, which never worked. We all have varied personalities and there was a time when we were unsuccessful at our literal attempts to kill each other. The worst of the fighters grew up to be the best friends up to death. Keep trying your best to keep them alive and out of the hospital. Remember you are their parent(s) and not their friend(s). They may not like you and your parenting choices now. But do give it time. Some of them may not be best buds with each other even after growing up. Don't let that bother you as they are just plain and simply different people. I will say trying to force them to like each other will drive bigger wedges between them and between you/them. above all, make sure they know you love them and HANG IN THERE!
My mother wanted me to have a sibling so I would have a best friend for life. We have nothing in common, fought like cats and dogs growing up and barely speak now. But at least I’m there to save his ungrateful ass from dying of leukemia.
YDI. No sympathy for gender disappointment.
>> I'd always wanted a baby girl << WORST reason for having a child, ever.
