My first thought was do you live in Detroit
This is actually a big issue happening in low income areas, water being shut off with no warning. I'd start reading up on your rights, and see if anyone else in the neighborhood got the same treatment.
I hope they credited your account for the next month as an apology for their incompetence.
Don't they offer you the option to pay it online?
Get them to refund the day you started paying for it. If it's their screw up, they owe YOU
can we say lawsuit against the city?
The electricity company did this to my parents... We changed the address but they kept sending the bill to our old address, we told them over and over that we hadn't received it and to send it to the new address. Still never got it but oh they could drive to the new address to turn the power off. Douchebags.
Blame Obama.
