Today, my fifteen year-old son decided to tell his little five year-old sister that Santa isn't real. She now refuses to talk to any of us and thinks "her whole life is a lie". FML

Beating donkeys are considered animal abuse. Just sayin'.

Don't tell her about the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny then. She may go rogue.

kids should now from start santa isn't real, is a big deceive and i can't get to undesrstand why parents endorse this fallacie, my son knows for a fact tha santa doesn't exist as also i did when i was a child. and it creates more confidence since i wasn't lied the whole of my childhood: Same with the Easter Bunny and Pumpkin King, etc.

YDI for lying to her. I totally agree with #163.

well... she was gonna find out someday..... lol... just think what will happen when she finds out about the tooth fairy and the easter bunny....

Maybe you shouldn't have made her believe such thing in the first place

I never got the whole Santa thing. I was told that Santa existed when I was little but I never believed it... I think it's wrong to lie to kids, and any logical kid will see right through it. On the other hand, most people say that they loved believing in Santa, so I guess it has its reasons... I suppose that it should just be up to the parents then.

Then don't get him anything for Christmas and when he asks, say that's what happens when you insult Santa

I was told Santa wasn't real from the very beginning. See, maybe it's best that you don't bullshit your kids.
