Yeah, but did they stage interventions? Mine did because, apparently, being a vegetarian automatically makes you a vegan, feminist, anarchist lesbian. It makes sense when you leave out the logic.
Been a vegetarian for about 30 years now. It's an unfortunate fact that there are those to whom this is just unthinkable. Probably their logic, such as it as, goes something like, "Oh, come ON, EVERYBODY likes a good steak. At some level, I doubt it's about you personally. The world is, sad to say, loaded with people who just cannot fathom that someone REALLY, REALLY is different from them in some way that they consider key.
very true (: it's so sad, especially where i live. if anyone figures how i don't eat meat the first thing out of their mouth is "OH MY GOD, HOW DO YOU SURVIVE? I WOULD DIE!!" and people have cooked chicken for me before, and after i politely declined it, said that chicken wasn't real meat and therefore i should eat it. -_-
peta = people eating tastey animals try it some time u losser
I love being a vegetarian, my parents hate it. they try to make me meat everyday.
I get it! I am also a longtime veg. and people just don't understand. you say " I'm a vegetarian" at a restaurant and they go, "we have fish"! what!!! I don't eat anything with a mama or with eyes.
your parents are kust screwing w/ you

Hmm...just a thought, but I don't think this was posted as a for/against debate. My guess is that the OP was just upset about the fact that this dinner, prepared FOR her, was full of food she has refused to eat for a long time. It sounds like the parents are one way and so they think their offspring should be the same. It's no different than if the OP was lesbian and when she got home they had the hot new neighbor guy over and tried to hook them up. I'm guessing that would give some laughs, but many more arguments that it was wrong. The fact is, the OP chose a certain lifestyle and the parents not only ignored it but tried to force their own lifestyle on her. Cut her some slack, once again...this dinner was supposed to be a "welcome home" meal.
somebody doesn't want you to be a vegitarian
