Today, I wrote my boyfriend a poem, and left it on the bed with a rose for him to see after work. When I came home later, I noticed the flower in the trash, and the poem had been used as gum wrapper. FML

I'm constantly surprised how much sexism is on this site. Considering how many teenagers and young adults are here, I wouldn't think you would have grown up with that mentality. I didn't. Did neoconservatism made it cool again to declare who wears the pants? Somebody get me a Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Agreed. I'm not sure why the guys are using 'having a penis' as an excuse to be assholes and I'm not sure why some of the women are expecting it from them, just because you let yourself be treated like shit, why should everyone else? And in fact, my bf still has the bday and xmas cards and presents that I got him 2 years ago on the mantlepiece. Not every guy is an arrogant douchebag, it's just trouble finding the few that aren't. And just because a guy is not an arrogant douchebag, it doesn't make them gay like I'm seeing a lot of guys here seem to think. I'm thinking most of these guys have severe insecurities.

gotta go with YDI for not knowing your boyfriend. He's obviously not a poem rose kind of guy and if you've been with him for while you should have known that. If you've only been with him for a short time this was a dumb move since most guys don't go for this sort of thing. See comment from #54 good advice.
