Why? And, what happened? I'd seriously like to know, this sounds like it could be hilarious with more details.

It's a national organization that grades businesses on their standards, reliability, and customer satisfaction. It's a very reputable organization, and people take their grades on businesses very seriously. A negative report to the BBB can be very damaging to a business if the BBB determines it to be legitimate. However, the BBB doesn't give a **** about garage sales.

OP's wife is taking the whole "detective role play" thing a little too far. Be glad she didn't call the cops. Just because there's no paper trail doesn't mean it's a drug deal...

Haha this is hilarious! Your wife clearly knows nothing about an innocent little yard sale.

Maybe it wasn't so innocent... Maybe it was a front for an illegal gambling ring... In which case she should have reported it to the FBI or the local police...

Or even worse than that 22 it could have been a cover for a gathering of an organization that only wants to take over the world.

There is no way that's worse than an illegal gambling ring. Illegal gambling rings will be the downfall of society. I know this for a fact. Really.

Wow. There has got to be more to this story! Please do tell us!

I don't think so... "Hello, I am calling to report my neighbor's yard sale!" Can you imagine ANYTHING coming out of it?

At least the People from Better Business Bureau will have something to laugh.

Wait I'm not American.... What's Better Business Bureau?

Its a bureau dedicated to more honourable and better business'. As mentioned in the title.

#20 it was a yard sale not a garage sale there is a difference. The difference is um. Uh... Wait nevermind there is no difference. Carry on as normal. *slowly backs away into a shadow pretending to be invisible*

I don't know too much about BBB's, but I'll certainly answer some questions on double D's! Haha..

his wife confused this organization with their neighborhood's "home owner's association" or HOA. a home owner's association is where you'd complain about someone never cutting their lawn or other stuff like that.

35- businesses would want to because it could give them a good rating with the BBB, and in turn bring in customers who are impressed with their rating.

yeah 50, they have certain rules in neighborhoods. where I am if someone tapes a sign to a stop sign for lost dog or something, it gets taken down and the number gets called and the person says "please find another way to advertise this we don't want our stop signs gummed up"

I NEED more explanation. Otherwise there are so many ways to interpret this story...

I really hope you explained to her in a few sentences or less, why that was not the smartest course of action. Good luck!
