Why? And, what happened? I'd seriously like to know, this sounds like it could be hilarious with more details.

It's a national organization that grades businesses on their standards, reliability, and customer satisfaction. It's a very reputable organization, and people take their grades on businesses very seriously. A negative report to the BBB can be very damaging to a business if the BBB determines it to be legitimate. However, the BBB doesn't give a **** about garage sales.

this may sound odd, but why would you need a permit for a yard sale..? where im from, if people want to have a garage sale, they just go for it as its their property they are selling and selling it within their own lawn/driveway.

If anything I think it'd make life interesting...as long as you're not on the receiving end. Ha. Sounds like this could be an entertaining story. We just need to hear the rest.

Because people is nuts! I guess it's because some people run an actual business as a garage/yard sale. I would figure that requiring permits would encourage business only 'professional' yard sales... wait I think we have our answer!

Ok, my question is, was she reporting the sale as in selling publicly without a license, OR saying she got bad service and/or bad merchandise from the sale? If the former, she's barking up the wrong tree; that's local government. BBB is private non-profit.The latter is just bark at the moon insane.

Maybe she loaned her a toaster and it was in the sale

You married her..for better or worse..your fault.

That's what happens when your daughter won't haggle
