Late stage capitalism

Today, I got laid off. I spent the last two months planning a conference for my company. They fired me the day before the conference. I skipped my ex-boyfriend's funeral to be at the first day of this job. FML

How can you sabotage the conference? What can you call up and cancel?

People sacrifice so much for companies, thinking they will get promoted and get respect etc, then they do this stuff to you and you look back, at all the missed birthdays, christmases, anniversaries and in your case funerals.. was it worth it? Just to end up unemployed, tired from having worked hard on rubbish pay, then you find out the ceo has made millions, higher ups get bonuses etc. point is, always pick your health and family first, companies don’t give a shit about anyone or anything, you live your life, don’t live your life for them

Which is it, laid off or fired? It was actually good luck that you missed your victim's funeral. Cops usually look around those because the killer often shows up.

Social engineering for the win! I’ve actually done this to a multi million dollar company. One day i’ll post on nuclear revenge, but that company is no longer around due to me flicking the first domino over. Revenge is sometimes sweet

My philosophy has always been that I will be every bit as loyal to my employer as they are to me… The last thing you should do would be to sabotage you former employer’s conference. Word tends to get around and if it came out that you did that it will eventually be a costly mistake for you. This is time to be an adult and think of your next job and not on payback schemes that could hurt you in the future… By the way nobody wants to hire someone who is badmouthing their previous (or current) employer during the interview. They want to know your skills and figure out if you will fit well with the company. Excessive complaints about your former employer are a big red flag for most employers. Also when you start a new job, it’s rare that anyone wants to know how they did things at your previous job unless they actually ask… OP I am sorry for the miserable timing. You have to make finding your next job your priority along with surviving until then.
