Hey, I'm the op. Well here's the back story, I'm in the military here and I'd just gotten off a patrol, the rec room was empty, so I dropped my vest in front of the sofa, grabbed a pillow and layer down ready to watch some TV. To my inconvenience I'd forgotton to grab the remote, which was on the complete other side of the room. My phone has an IR blaster so I just spent a good amount of time looking for an app, (for those asking for the apps name it's "sure") and then downloading it, which took a good fifteen minuets to download, and then another ten to configure it to the weird off brand TV we have here, then the cable box was a nightmare in itself, since every button wanted to be a special snowflake. All in all, I think it was worth it, been using my phone as the remote every single time since then. I highly recommend a lazy lifestyle to everyone. Keeps you productive. Thanks to everyone for reading my long ass follow up. And to all my lazy friends out there. Remotes are a thing of the past for me now.
I have an app like that, when my sister first found it we spent about 10 minutes screwing with my dad cause she accidentally connected to the TV in the living room.
This is literally what technological progress is. Invest some time and resources in a burst to simplify things in the future. No problem with that.
I would say that's genius
thanks OP for the name of the app, I want it too :)
