Today, while at the restaurant I work at, a bunch of kids came in. They all gave incredibly complex orders, laughed at everything I did, and made a huge mess by "spilling" hot sauce and water all over the floor. After they left, I was tipped eleven cents. FML

Today, at work, I got to wait on one of those tables where everyone had very complex orders, and some of them sent their food back. When the time finally came for me to bring them their check and receive my well-earned tip, I returned only to discover that they'd dined and dashed. FML

Today, at work, I served a group of three teens. Their tab was $75 and they tipped me nothing. They wrote a thank you on a piece of receipt paper, put it in a glass of water and used a coaster to turn the glass of water upside down on the table, spilling water everywhere. They also stole my pen. FML

Today, I was feeling sick but went into my waitressing job because I'd already missed 3 days this week. I was dizzy and managed to spill a tray of drinks all over the customers. Then, when their food was done, I tripped and spilled hot chili all over the man's lap. FML

Today, I was waitressing for a huge family. Their bill was $750. Excited about the tip, I was shocked to see only $0.50. As they were leaving, I threw the two whole quarters at their heads. Guess who also got fired today. FML

Today, as a restaurant hostess, I fell into the fountain at work while carrying a high chair in front of several large parties, who all promptly laughed at me. We were so busy, I had to stay and finish my shift soaking wet. FML

Today, I was taking a table's order. After I finished, the guy told me, "Just FYI, I'm not a tipper." Trying to lighten up the situation, I replied, "It's amazing how many people forget I handle their food." He complained to the manager that I'd threatened him. FML

Today, I ordered pizza for dinner and left cash by the door so my son could pay for it, in case it arrived before I got home. I told him they should get all the money, but I just found the tip. Apparently he thought I'd miscounted. I'm a server. FML

im not even effing playing around i think that was me and my friends. OP: do u work at the Chilis in the Cerritos Mall? I showed my friend this and she said she tipped 11 cents at her birthday party. And we were only laughing cuz the black girl was making a wierd face every time we talked.....sorry

excuse me. Mr 281go a fifteen percent is not a nice tip. it is annoying to work your but off and go to a 43 dollar table with a 6 dollar tip. people should teach theirs kids to tip. and not be so cheap. if you can't afford it don't eat out

15% is a perfectly acceptable tip. It's a standard one, so no, it's not amazing, but it's normal. As much as you'd like to get tipped 25% of every table you wait, it's not fair to expect of every customer that comes in. You may say that it is not fair to the wait staff, either, but it is, seeing as you also get paid hourly. It's not as if tips are all you get. There are plenty of people who have to live off of the same hourly wage a server makes with no opportunities to accept tips.
