Today, while at the restaurant I work at, a bunch of kids came in. They all gave incredibly complex orders, laughed at everything I did, and made a huge mess by "spilling" hot sauce and water all over the floor. After they left, I was tipped eleven cents. FML

I can't stand people like you. it's absolutely pathetic for you to blame your behavior on your age. if you're old enough to go to a big boy restaurant all by yourself, you're old enough to act like a decent human being. I don't give a **** if they were having a good time and messing around. it's wrong to do so at someone else's expense. My friends and I have had our share of late night obnoxious times in restaurants, but we always show our waitress the utmost appreciation and remember to tip her. You need to grow up and walk a day in her shoes, asshole.

At the restaurant that I work at, when we're doing our cash out, we have to tip out 4.5% [kitchen, host, food runners, bartender.. etc]. So for OP to work her butt off serving these people and not getting anything for it, at my job, I would have actually had to pay out of my own pocket to cover the tip out. So yes, that's extremely rude as servers actually work hard for their money, only to get treated like shit and lose money in the end.

if they show up again, don't seat them. that's happened toe before, and it doesn't matter that you're losing that customer since they really don't give a shit about your business.
