Long distance

Today, I'm in my fourth month of training in the US Navy. I'm 3000 miles from home. I joined to give my wife a better life. Since I've been gone, she decided that she liked being single. FML

Yeah hey however said the military pays well is a ******* idiot and needs to check their facts before they make an asinine statement they have no info to support I'm an E-5 with one child and I'm married AND I qualify for food stamps.

I didn't join the military to make money I did it to serve my country. There is a reason that there is not a line for people to join the military, and in advance no comments on Iraq please, its not an easy life but for me I can't imagine any other job where I receive more job satisfaction and a higher sense of pride in what I do. I'm sorry you can't respect the sacrifices I have to make.

it depends on your rank in the military. my husband is in the army as an officer and makes about 96K.

I'm not sure why some people hate the military so much. Whether we go to war or not is because of the government, and the soldiers go. It is their job and their duty as a soldier/sailor/airman. It is never a soldiers fault for going to war. If you have a problem, say it to the government. And guess what? War sucks. No one likes it. But it is necessary in order to defend ourselves and our beliefs, such as WW2. Hitler was ******* people over and killing thousands. Not only that but we were attacked and we fought back. Rolling over like a bitch is pathetic. 9/11 happened and those terrorist ******* are getting their asses kicked. I'm not sure that Iraq was a good idea, but Saddam was certainly butt buddies with Al-Qaeda. (but it wasn't for oil either assholes) Afghanistan IS OUR WAR. We found the enemy and we are killing them. They killed THOUSANDS of innocent people, and it is our duty to **** them up. Go U.S.A.

Whatever happened on 9/11 I don't know and I don't care. But the invasion of Iraq was NOT for your freedom or for 'kicking their asses'. It was about control. Just look at the Bush doctrine for example. He never would've gotten away with that before 9/11.
