Today, while driving to Nashville, I saw a bunch of wild turkeys huddled together on the side of the road. I was excited to point them out to my boyfriend, until I realized that the "wild turkeys" were in fact vultures, and that they were eating a dead deer. FML

Am I the only who has the Circle of Life from Lion King playing in my head?

If it makes you feel any better, they were probably turkey vultures.

I once saw a peacock stretch in a majestic pose and pointed it out in wonder to my bf at the time. Turns out the peacock was just pooping. Ah, nature.

To be fair, vultures do look like really sinister turkeys

You don't need to be from the south to see stuff like this. I live in California and there's wild turkeys and vultures up here.

I just want to confirm that this was Nashville INDIANA... Not Tennessee! I enjoy and appreciate the circle of life... Just not when it takes me surprise like that haha.

TECHNICALLY, they were more than likely Turkey Vultures. So OP you're only half wrong. And Half Right!

So you don't know your wild animals very well...that shouldn't be a problem

I went to nashville to visit a friend and she said they weren't vultures but in fact condors. most of the time when we were down there on vacation, condors would stalk the highway for food. so I know how you feel OP because I thought the same thing at first.

Lucky for you OP is that they were probably Turkey Vultures, which are very common. We have them in out neighborhood from time to time.
