Making an entrance

Today, I was late for class. I have extreme social anxiety, so I quietly slipped into the huge, packed auditorium, trying to be as quiet as possible. When I was almost to my seat, I accidentally kicked a teacher's coffee down the steps. The entire class looked at me and some clapped. FML

I feel bad for the coffee. All it wanted was to be drank. And you ****** it up. Be ashamed!

I believe standing ovation is in order.

I've done that too. But I was playing baseball.

How can you play baseball and expect anyone to not look your way?

Oh I meant knock over coffee, not shyness.

Yes, my coach was a coffee addict.

Evidently, you are really dealing well with your fear of tardiness. That's a good fear to have if you have such a dreaded disease as "extreme social anxiety."

Drop it now! If its early enough you can still get some money back! Then never show your face again!

I can totally picture this as a slow-clap scenario where OP stands there frozen turning 50 shades of red while more people slowly joining in, followed by the professor removing his glasses (because of course he has glasses and is wearing a tweed jacket with corduroy patches on the elbows) wiping them on his sleeve and then also joining the clap.

I would have bowed and waived thanking everyone

Well they might not have been clapping at op but at the fact that op bought them a few minutes of not having to listen to a mind numbingly boring lecture. So don't feel bad op
