Making new friends

Today, my coworker came to my desk, so I greeted him with a smile, and said, "Hello friend." He then told me that we are not friends, and that he hates when I say that. Oh, OK, sorry for trying to be nice. FML

Wow. I get some people don't care to be chummy with co-workers, but that's rude. Next time just try being very serious and saying "Good morning, workplace acquaintance!" with a court nod - but seriously, don't let one Mr. Grumpy Head ruin your tendency to be friendly.

Work and family. Where you are forced to socialize with people you’d normally avoid. Some people just don’t put on he friend mask. Though there are better ways to handle it.

You probably think the Friend Zone is a good place to be, too.

To be fair, "hello, friend" is a totally weird greeting from anyone, friends included.

I know a few people who use it, tbh. It's not REALLY common, but I'm used to hearing it, at least.
