Me me me

Today, I was on the phone with my boyfriend for an hour listening to him talk about his new truck and his final exams. I literally did not say a single word. Just as I said, "Hey baby, guess what happened to me today?", he says, "Can I go to sleep? I'm too tired to guess. Night." FML

I agree; don't dump him unless this becomes a consistent thing that he keeps doing, which you can no longer stand. And even if you can stand it, you shouldn't be forcing yourself to stay with this guy. For this particular case, though, it seems that he was in a talkative mood and had a lot to get off his chest. I ramble on at times to different people at different times.

bad advice. unless this is a usual thing don't dump him. sometimes guys need the spotlight too.

Doesn't anyone else here think that if the boyfriend is thoughtless enough to not give a shit about his girlfriend's day, and selfish enough to make the conversation all about him, that perhaps there might be some fairly serious lack of respect going on? Let him know that it's not ok to be selfish when it comes to communication. You don't want to listen to a monologue. If he does it again, it's indicative of a bigger problem and time to find someone who is interested and interesting.

Now I want to know what happened to her

who doesnt say anything though? like, isnt the point of a conversation, to CONVERSE?

Well then. He sounds kind of self centred to me.

Are you kidding me? You admit that you literally "didn't say a thing" to any of the things he told you? Then why would he have to respond to what you have to say? If you can't give him some input or comment on what he tells you, you can't expect him to listen to you either.

A new truck!!!! How could you not hear all the specs on that baby! Other hand, check with him before you dump him.

I agree with number seven, he seems to be a bit of a jerk, unless he was really excited about it and apologizes about it later then you should probably dump him
