Money money money!

Today, I got a promotion to management at work. My employer decided to give the 'non-management' employees a really nice raise. Which means the job I had before my promotion is now paying more than the job I have now. Did I just get demoted? FML

What did the other management employees have to say about this? I can't think of any job I've ever heard of in which management gets paid lower, even for a short while. I think your boss is screwing with you.

Happened to my mom too, sorta, but she knew it would happen when she took the job. She was making less money than everyone else anyways, because the pay increases with seniority, and everyone had been there a lot longer than she had. The regular employees got a raise every September, when the temporary summer employees leave. Management gets raises in April, before all the craziness that the company goes through in the summer starts. Lowest level management makes the same that 6-year employee makes. Since that September was my moms 7th year there, she would have made more staying in her old job, but the management raise is significantly more than regular raise. She didn't get a raise that September, but come april she was making $5 an hour more than before, and then with all the overtime she's required to put in during the summer, she decided it was worth it.

I know, but if I had just said "yes it can happen" someone probably would have told me I was wrong, and since my personal experience tells me that I'm not, I was going to share.
