Today, I was at work at an ice cream shop when a hot guy came in and started chatting me up. I got him his ice cream and as I handed it to him, he mentioned that I was cute and walked away. Then I realised he hadn't paid for the ice cream, and I didn't even get a date out of it. FML

Today, I went on a date with a guy that I really like. At the last minute he informed me a friend would be tagging along. To keep his friend from being a third-wheel, I kept up a conversation, and managed to piss my date off. He thought I would be a better match for his friend. FML

Just to clear things up, he was and older man (probably in his 60s or 70s) and the way he said it was a in very friendly tone. I'm pretty sure he was just joking. I actually wasn't even mad. Me and my friend laughed about for ten minutes straight. I just thought it'd be a funny story to share.

If your friend is female and you are male that is pretty common. (Or if he likes guys and your friend is male). It probably had absolutely nothing to do with what you look like and everything to do with the fact that he fancied your friend or wanted to compliment her in a way. It was not appropriate of him. Please try not to take it personally.
