Today, my fiancé proposed to me at the movies. The movie stopped in the middle, and my fiancé stands up, takes out a microphone and announces to the entire theatre that he loves me. Right when he went on one knee, someone shouts, "Turn the movie back on!", and throws a cup of coke at my head. FML

It's ok OP, I didn't say it back to my ex for a good month or so after he first said "I love you." Oh, wait, that's because I didn't, and when I finally did say it back it was only because I was running out of alternative responses... Though in hindsight, maybe I should have just broken up with him then.

'I love you' is not a question, so don't expect an answer. Maybe the time wasn't right, maybe it was an inappropriate movie. She'll find a better time and place to say it. Hope so.
