Out of the frying pan…

By Godhelpme - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Houston

Today, in a last-ditch attempt to get away from my psycho coworker, I made my boss transfer me to another branch in the district. My coworker was immediately moved to that branch, because we "work well together". FML

Maybe you should file a work complaint against said coworker. That sounds a bit like stalking to me.

I can see how working next to a psycho would increase productivity. Shit, I'd want to get home quicker, too!

If it's at all an option, I'd tell your boss that it isn't what you want ideally but if the situation isn't going to be handled, you will remove yourself from it. I know it may not be an option, if it's not, really assert yourself that this is a problem and you won't tolerate it and shouldn't have to. If necessary, get a lawyer because your rights are being violated.

What rights are being violated here exactly? In the work environment you're most likely going to have to work with people you don't like. The OP said the co-worker is "psycho", that could mean a variety of things. If it's a case of harassment, OP should deal with it accordingly.

Have you tried talking to your coworker? Maybe he doesn't know that you don't like him. All he might be doing is trying to be your friend or like other people have said he might be your stalker. This is why you should talk to him. Good luck OP

I really doubt it's just that OP doesn't like him. There's a very clear difference between annoying and "psycho".

People use the word "psycho" liberally. The guys' probably not clinically so. However, if he's affecting your work performance your boss should definitely be informed.

Him saying "psycho" means it's probably beyond just creepy/annoying, not that he's actually clinically psychotic.

Tell your boss the truth. If that doesn't work, a concealed carry permit and a restraining order should work just fine.

I'm not saying it wouldn't help protect OP, but that's not a solution. The problem is there's someone with mental problems posing a danger to other people, not everyone can have guns nor should they. People need better access to mental health care.

I doubt he's truly mentally ill. The term 'psycho' doesn't have clinical connotations to most people in most conversations.

21, I'm pretty sure that 17 was just joking and I highly doubt that the coworker is clinically psycho. I think it would be difficult for no one else at work to notice if the coworker was actually psychotic. Chances are he's just really socially awkward, clingy, angry, snaps over really little things, doesn't do most of the work or blames OP for things, things like that.

I was joking. I doubt the situation is so bad that the OP is in such danger that they need to carry a weapon for self defense, and get official documentation saying that the person can't be near them.

Yeah. ************ follows you, pull out a gun. Attract attention to passerbyers as well.

Switch jobs, perhaps they'll fire the coworker too :P

time to introduce your psycho coworker to other coworkers, you know, to let their relationships grow and what not..

Why do I feel like I was just yelled at after reading your comment?

Why Do You Type Like This Its So ******* Pointless And Takes Three Times As Long

Should have explained to your boss why you wanted to transfer.

You could always try finding a better job, if it's that bad. Fyl.

You need to report him...it seems like that's the only way out
