Has it never occurred to you that being able to drive a standard is a good thing. Everybody should know how.
Over here, everyone gets a manual and automatics license because no one wants to be limited to just one type. What's so hard about that?
only in America.. What is your plan if you guys are travelling and end up with a stickshift? And fyi all Americans out there: manuals is not on it's way out in other countries. Automatics takes the fun out of driving...
Some of the reason I wrote that post was because i get annoyed when ppl stereotype an entire country. But then you have all of those people that comment while in their own bubble and think everything is the same as in Usa. Good on you and your father, the things you were taught, really should've been requirements to obtain a license. In the end, there are VERY few ppl that is unable to learn a manual. However some picks it up faster then others.
