It's bad enough getting pulled over but no insurance??? That just sucks
I voted FYL solely because you lived in a trailer
I voted FYL solely because you lived in a trailer
A manual isn't that hard to drive it took me an hour to get it down to where I shifted smoothly. You really need to learn how to drive a stick shift.
24 - you're and idiot. They don't/didn't live in a trailer. They were using a moving trailer attached to their car to move their stuff. FYL OP, but 3 hours isn't much so that's not horrible. But it still sucks.
I seriously read the top comments and just sighed, but as I read on, there is hope for the human race!! You two idiots need to learn how to read and expand your vocabulary.
No insurance only "sucks" because the guy is too stupid to realize why he needs it...
He procrastinated on getting those just a little to long.
Comment moderated for rule-breaking.
Show it anyway..There already is as #6 stated.
5* sorry.

Now that's a true redneck father!
YDI for not knowing how to drive a manual.
People like me want to learn, but it's harder in a country dominated by automatics
A-*******-greed. If you can't drive Manuel, then learn. You can drive ANYTHING then. I lol at my friends who can't haha. Or anyone else
I hate the fact that if you want a manual car, it's almost impossible to find a second hand one!
30) manual cars get about 5 more mpg because you can control when the shift is. Hence in the current economy, they get snatched up pretty quick....
In my country we have to learn how to drive manual or we don't get a license...
How can you even get a license without learning how to drive with a stick!
55: But first you'd have to learn when to shift with your car. The reason there's better mileage is because a practiced human can make better calls than a computer on changing gears. But having an amateur drive manual is probably worse than driving automatic. (But of course practice makes perfect.)
Omg. YDI because they didn't learn how to drive a manual car... That is the dumbest thing I've heard of...
It's not really OPs fault for not knowing how to drive stick. When I learned how to drive both my parents had autos so I never had the chance to learn in a manual.
Manual isn't hard at all. It has got to be the easiest thing ever. Automatics take the fun out of driving. The first few times of being at a red light or stop sign can be nerve wracking with cars behind you, so people tend to stall more.
I'm 17 and I was taught to learn a manual before an automatic. I live in Canada. It was a perfect method to learn proper driving.
FYL, OP. Hopefully things go smoothly from this point on. Your dad owes you one, in my opinion. Getting side-swiped is bad enough on its own.
No. He messed that up. I feel like he should make it up to her. Buy her ice cream or something, I don't know. But obviously he was negligent. Driving with a suspended license? Exactly.
OP's dad hindered the move because of his negligence. If everything had gone on without a hitch, it would be appropriate for OP to properly thank her dad and move on.
Ok manual is not ******* rocket science there is a clutch petal next to the brake that u push in and move the shifter to shift gears... Kinda like a bike but when u shift u push the clutch that's the only difference. God people are dumb
Why would you even attempt to drive a car if you had no real lessons on driving that specific type? That's a ****-up waiting to happen.
Thank you for that. I'm sure all the people reading this comment can take their newfound knowledge and just go drive a clutch right now! Seriously, learning to drive a clutch at all, let alone driving one well, takes training and practice. It is NOT common knowledge, especially with so many cars with an automatic transmission. It may not be hard for those of us that know how, but to someone who has never driven one, it very well may be like rocket science.
If you learn to use your brain and drive a manual you will be licensed to drive both an automatic and a manual. But if you think using your hand, foot and brain is too hard then learning in an automatic means you're limited to automatic and things like this happen. I suppose there were only automatics around when OP started to drive but they could have looked. Many still drive manual. In the uk most instructors have a manual car because they want as many customers as possible, plus they will be happier knowing they can drive both.
Cause everyone knows how to drive a motorcycle, therefore everyone knows how to drive a clutch. God people are ignorant.
I'm pretty sure he meant pedal bike. There is still a clutch on motorcycles so they're kinda exactly the same. So yes, people, including you, are ignorant.
Tell me ONE way riding a bike is the same as driving a clutch, then I'll accept being called ignorant. Til then, I will still stick with what I said. Either way, driving a clutch is way different than a bike OR motorcycle.
In the UK ALL instructors have a manual car. The drivers license you get is for a manual car. Getting an automatic only license is unheard of. I'm not even sure if it's offered.
It really just depends were you live Manual autos are nearly non-existent in PA. We are not required to learn manual, I took my test on an automatic, and have never had a reason to drive manual.
We only learn to drive manuals in the Netherlands. That way we can drive all cars without any problems :)
Shows how lazy people are these days, it's so easy. And it helps when driving in the snow.
