Today, while driving on the tollway my car overheated and died a few yards from the toll booth. I then had to wait, crying, in my smoking car for a patrol guy while cars moved around me. He had to push me through the toll and the lady in the booth said she felt sorry for me but still took my $3. FML

Today, my car broke down on the highway, and I had to call for a tow truck. It finally showed up, only to break down too less than a mile later. Cue nearly freezing to death while we waited for help to arrive for the both of us. FML

Driving is expensive

Today, my car was towed. After taking a cab all the way to the lot for $45 and paying the $250 fee to get my car back, my car broke down in the impound lot and needed to be towed to the nearest shop, where it took another $200 to fix, and $50 for the towing. I still have a 3-hour drive home. FML

Today, while on my way to work, I had a tire blowout. I got the car towed and borrowed my mom’s so that I could still get to work. Her car seized and died on the expressway ramp. It’s not in any tow truck’s jurisdiction. FML

Today, my car died on a major road, a cop pulled over to help, he offered to jump me, while doing so because my battery was so dead he told me to put the gas on the floor, I did and my car roared to life, he then pulled me over five feet from where my car died to give me a ticket for a loud exhaust. FML

Today, my car broke down. I pulled to the side of the road to call a tow truck. After waiting what seemed like hours, the tow truck showed up, and then ran into the back of my car. FML

Today, I was driving to a gas station because I'd noticed I was almost on empty. Literally a block away from the gas station, my car broke down in the middle of an intersection, and I had to push my car to the side of the road, only to be questioned by police for "suspicious behavior." FML

Today, my minivan broke down on the side of the highway. I'm out of work and can't afford a cell phone, so I resorted to standing at the back of my van holding a "HELP" sign. About an hour went by, in which time I was passed by a cop car, a firetruck, and a car that said "Roadside Assistance." FML

Today, my tire blew while I was on the freeway. I had to change the tire in pouring rain while wearing short shorts and flip-flops. No one stopped to help, but several people politely honked as if to remind me of my misfortune. FML

Today, my car broke down in traffic. It's okay though, everyone honked in support while I moved my vehicle from the busy intersection. Only the third time this month. FML

Today, my second car overheated after having it for like 6 months. Right after getting a new job. It’s currently stuck on the side of the highway, and I have no money to get it towed or fixed. Every time I think things are gonna be okay, they aren’t. FML

Today, after paying $3 at the toll booth and having my car die a few yards from the phone booth, I posted a story on FML hoping to feel better about myself. After it got accepted, it turned out I have to pay $3 just to have it published! I started crying. FML.

Either this was poorly written or whoever wrote this just wanted to bitch about a bad day on FML...I feel like this sounded like a diary entry rather than a "funny" FML. YDI for thinking that a broken down car is going to keep you from paying the toll fee. You DO know what that pays for, right? The upkeep of the road you're driving on. SO if people were exempted from toll fees for things like cars breaking down (because believe me, you AREN'T the first person for this to happen to) then it would take even longer for the roads to be fixed and you'd end up back on FML whining about hitting a pothole or some BS like that. Next time, wait until you get your full license to drive rather than driving with a permit. You obviously aren't adult enough to handle the responsibilities and possible problems that come with driving.

The whole point of FML is simply to bitch about a bad day. Let off some steam. And the OP probably didn't expect not to have to pay for the toll.. I'm sure they know exactly what it is for. They just put that part in there because, after what already happened, it would just make things that much worse. And what was up with that part about only having a permit or whatever..? That made no sense Anyways, to the OP, I'm sorry, but YDI. That's why you check all the meters on your car as you're driving. Cars don't just spontaneously overheat.

All you had to do was to call a tow truck or something, NOT sit there and cry. & what makes you think you deserve to be exempted from paying the toll just because you cried? You were still making use of the road. Grow up OP.
