Pay up!

Today, while driving on the tollway my car overheated and died a few yards from the toll booth. I then had to wait, crying, in my smoking car for a patrol guy while cars moved around me. He had to push me through the toll and the lady in the booth said she felt sorry for me but still took my $3. FML

Crying because your car broke down? People are so weak and useless.

It should be virtually impossible for a properly maintained modern car to overheat while no load is being placed on the engine. Cry over your own ineptitude, if you carried out routine maintenance and checks on your vehicle this would never have happened.

Sometimes cars will overheat even if they are properly maintained, since sometimes parts just die in the car's engine due to overuse or age. My dad's car was about 10 years old when the head gasket blew on his 40 minute drive home from work, causing the car to overheat (he somehow made it home though). The car was properly maintained, brought into the dealership every so many kilometers for different types of service/inspection. I do agree that it is rare, but unfortunately sometimes things just wear with age, and depending on what part of the engine goes depends on how much work needs to be done to fix the vehicle (a head gasket means a whole new engine, which we got put in since the car was in perfect condition besides the head gasket). OP's car is probably just one of those rare cases where something like that just happens because of age or overuse.

I can't believe you have 3000 people you say FYL. Stay off the road until you grow up a little. You're making female drivers look bad.

YDI for not maintaining your vehicle. Idiot.

Actually most tow trucks don't touch tollways, and the ones that do make you pay out the nose (and usually don't coincide with your insurance's roadside assistance). So the patrol guy saved you a lot of money, I would be thankful.

You know what's awesome? Having a tiny little car that you, even with your ******, can simply get out and push. No muss, no fuss, no crying like a baby and inconveniencing a shit-ton of people.

FYL for being too poor to afford a new car. Seriously, if your car is that shitty that it just randomly overheats, that's your fault.

Stop your crying! What is it with women and cars breaking down? Sounds like you don't bother to do preventative maintenance on your car. Like everything and everyone else in life, your car is simply a means to an end. You use, and use, and use until it's no longer useful and dump it and find another to use. Typical selfish, simple-minded women! you make me sick!

It's a law. You have to follow them, hence them being made for a reason. YDI.
