I think that you should go ahead and commit suicide, that'll teach that bitch of a mother a lesson
Depression is all in your head, the sooner you realize that and change the way you think the sooner you will grow up and overcome it. I would not say depression is a self-centered thing or "fake," I would say it is a direct result of lack of understanding the larger scope of things and immaturity. I speak from personal experience, when you get over depression you see what a joke it really is and wonder why you spent so much time dwelling on the negative and falling into life-threatening habits... Which is why this is obviously a YDI. Your mother did nothing wrong. Your problem is yours, she cannot do anything for you in this instance. So to those of you calling his mom a bitch, you really don't understand what is going on at all.
This is extremely similiar to another FML I've seen. So I don't know whether to believe you or not. But if you are depressed and have suicidal thoughts, you need to seek help. This is very very serious. And give your mom a break. This is a lot for a parent to handle and she may be using that an excuse to take a step back and think about how to help you. And just so people know. Yeah this may be a cry for attention. But most people who think or talk about suicide, attempt it. It's been shown that 8/10 people who talk about suicide, attempt it. So whether it's a person just trying to get attention or if the person is serious, it should never be taken lightly it should always be taken seriously. OP: If you did steal this and this is fake, you should be extremely ashamed of yourself.
1st, lol at #51, #41 should never have kids 2nd, #23, You start your comment with, "Clearly none of you have any idea what depression is like", which may be hands down one of the most ignorant things I've ever read. I'm pretty sure every one on this earth has felt some sense of depression from time to time. Then, you end your dumb ass argument with, "All of you are ignorant assholes. Maybe learn a bit about the topic before pretending to know what you're talking about and passing judgment on people". That my friend is an epic failure in making any sort of point. FYL right there 3rd, This FML is not specific enough to make a good judgment call off of so of course I'm going to make some assumptions in order to try to help this person, maybe if they would have been more detailed, my reply would have been different. This is a serious topic so I don't see why I can't try to help without people saying, "Nobody wants your self- proclaimed 'right' opinions shoved down their throats, and no they did not ask for it JUST because they came to this website", *cough* #53, right to free speech bunghole
no guys, you wrong this is how parents have to deal with these things. very one step at a time. trust me i went through this with my mom. next thing she will be "sigh okay finnish your homework and do you want to see stuff" she most likely wants to think through what to do because this is her first time doing this. so dont be mad at your mom and shes not a bitch and op im sorry you feel that way
#56 you really dont understand this. maybe that was an expeirence for you. but have you ever heard of clinical depression, its not a choice but has to do with chemicals in your brain and people have different shit. some worse than other. so please stop judging the op. she does not deserve this and im sure her mother does care
#50 you dont know what the **** is going on in her/his life so stop trying. for all you know she had horrible things happen to her/him. so maybe the "homeless guy" has depression or maybe he can tolerate his situation better than the op. and all deprsion isnt a choice. its not something you choose to have
I've seen almost this exact FML about five times.

This whole argument is pointless. I doubt any of you know OP personally, in which case you don't know OP's feelings. It could be a cry for help as easily as a cry for attention. OP, if you really are depressed, please get help. Hang out with your friends, get exercise, play with tour dogs. All of these could help you feel better!
Well just because the FMLs are slightly similar doesn't make this one untrue.
