Today, I babysat a 10-year-old and we played Pokémon. It was my first time playing, so he showed me. I ended up winning and the kid started crying and told his parents he hated me. They decided not to pay me for the night, and now I'm out of a job. FML

Did you explain to the parents what happened? If you did and they still refused to pay you they are total douchebags. Ask your parents to get involved and get you your money.

Maybe it's an opportunity for u to drop ur babysitting career and become a Pokemon trainer

Um...they can't NOT pay you. Tell their lazy asses that they HAVE to pay you or get sued.

"Can't not" is a double negative. Meaning they can go without paying her! My mother has not paid babysitters before if my brother and I told her bad things about them. But we didn't cry over losing something, it was always something really bad they did; drinking while babysitting, inviting their friends over for a party, ect. The OP needs to tell the parents why the kid is mad at her and ask for the money. It's ridiculous for a kid like this to get the last word just because he's an immature spoiled brat.

You've misunderstood the nature of a double negative. Can't not means exactly what it sounds like, the negatives cancel one another out so 'can't' negates 'not', meaning that they MUST pay op. It would only work the way you think it does if someone said something like 'I haven't done nothing' in which haven't negates nothing, meaning they HAVE done something.

**** that. TP and egg their house for Halloween!

Actually, this idea may heighten the Halloween spirit...

That's why you always let the kid win

Now you know their master plan...hmm crafty

The money is rightfully yours, because you had to spend time with that little brat.

Wow. He's 10 and he STILL cries over things like that? I'd understand if he was five or six, but once you're ten you're pretty much a preteen. I know some 10 year olds and if they were to cry over something like that they'd be considered spoiled or weirdly sensitive...

I had that happen to me but they payed me. But the kid was my brothers friend so he doesn't hate me

Surely parents need to take anything the kids say about a babysitter with a pinch of salt? Kids exaggerate to the max! That is so rude, maybe you are better off not working for them if something like this was bound to happen!
