If OP is "cautiously 'moving to the direction of home'" she can't be absolutely still... Plus a lot of the Southern guys I know are a lot more respectful of women than the guy in this FML, having grown up in a society that teaches respect of everyone. Maybe it's different elsewhere, though.

With his belching there may be the possibility he was a bit drunk too. Maybe he had a few too many because he was nervous. But if that is the case, and he can't go on a date without drinking too much, then he probably should just stay home.

If a friends offers to set you up with a blind date, first, look at their significant other. Then grade down before making a decision.
