Roofing hell!

Today, I was working on a client's roof. Some neighborhood kids thought it would be hilarious if they knocked over my ladder. I was stuck on this roof in serious heat. I caught the attention of a pedestrian to come to my rescue. It was a little old lady. She gave me the finger and left. FML

Today, I was serving an incredibly rude woman at work. The ladder I had used to get her two pairs of shoes came crashing down, and hit my face and neck. She only bought one pair, and ten minutes later returned them after, complaining they were too expensive. FML

Today, I spotted an elderly man trying to use the ladder at work. Knowing customers aren't supposed to use these, I went over and helped. Not only did I fall from the ladder, but I landed on the old man's foot, breaking my elbow and fracturing his toe. FML

Today, I was on a ladder at work, fetching some stock from one of the storage shelves. Some teenage kid thought it would be fucking hilarious to grab the ladder and violently shake it. He hadn't bet on me being startled enough to fall off and fracture my elbow on the floor. FML

Today, my dad asked if I'd help him clean the gutters. I was given the responsibility of holding the ladder while he went on the roof. All I heard was laughter before a year's worth of rotting vegetation landed on top of my head. FML

Today, I was fixing a leak in the roof. When I was climbing down the ladder, it fell, but I managed to grab the ledge of the roof. The ladder hit my wife's car, then I fell on top of the ladder. My wife came running out to ask what happened to the car. FML

Today, to save money, I wanted to fix my own leaky roof instead of hiring someone. When I got on the roof, the ladder fell. As it was falling, it broke three windows and snagged the siding of my house ripping over half of it off. FML

Today, I saw an elderly lady fall over in the street. Nobody bothered to do anything, so I went over and helped her up. Instead of thanking me, she called me a pervert and slapped me around with her cane. FML

Today, the door to my daughter's room became jammed and wouldn't open while she was in the room. Being resourceful, I grabbed my ladder and climbed up to her window, only to end up stuck in her window. I'm not sure what was worse, getting stuck, or being laughed at by my neighbors for a while. FML

Today, it was really windy and rainy causing me to trip and knock into a little kid. While still gathering myself, I apologized and patted the kid on its head. Then I see people around me starting to laugh. I turn and look at the kid, and discover I've been interacting with a trash can. FML

I feel for you man. I helped one of my dad's friends with a roofing job for a week, and that was the HOTTEST week of my life. FYL all the way.

Whether or not you deserved it for whatever reason these morons can come up with, those kids can be held criminally liable in juvenile justice court for taking the ladder. I don't know exactly what the charge would be but there's definitely something it would fall under.

I don't think they took the ladder, I think they just knocked it over and left it on the ground. But, yes, they could be held criminally responsible, especially if the guy had gotten heat stroke or worse.

Wow I feel bad for you how long were you stuck up there? I was working on my roof with my dad and it was late october and it was hot asa hell up there, plus I live in New Hampshire where it's not that hot in October. Roofs are like ovens!!! #19 **** you. I'm 16 and would never have done such a thing, hell would knocked those kids off a roof. Not all teens and kids are like that.

I'm currently 13, and I know many others my age that regularly write with proper spelling and grammar. Some of them even do so online. I understand that you were complimenting somebody, but you did so by believing a stereotype.
