Scammers all the way down

Today, and for the past 2 years, my aunt has owed me money. She just admitted that she fell for a scam, and gave the scammer more than double the amount I'd loaned her. I felt bad for her… until I realized something. When I asked how she had it to give to them, but not to pay me back, she got mad and hung up on me. FML

If you've got nothing in writing then all you can do is never lend her anything ever again, make sure the whole family knows not to lend her anything and possibly go NC with her, depending on what sort of family shit show that would cause. Whatever you do, the money is gone and not coming back. Learn the lesson. Family ***** family just as easily as strangers will.
