Sentimental value

By Anonymous - 28/12/2024 03:00 - United States - Richmond

Today, my husband convinced me to donate all the sentimental items around our house, like the kids' old toys. Now I feel absolutely gutted, like we gave away tons of our family history, but everyone else is so happy that things are less cluttered, so I just play along. I feel so empty. FML

Good intentions

Today, I decided to declutter my closet and donate old clothes. Proud of my altruism, I packed everything into bags and drove to the donation center. As I handed over the bags, the volunteer looked at me sympathetically and said, "We're not accepting donations right now." So not only did I just Marie Kondo my wardrobe, I also managed to be a one-person traffic jam for nothing. FML

If everyone except you is happy with less clutter then maybe you should Google: Hoarding. Because if you are the only one having a problem, then the problem may possibly be you...

you should have kept one toy from each child. at least a little something to hold on to.

You should never have been forced into it, but you have to be honest with yourself. Is it the toys that you miss,or is it the change in your home that has unsettled you? Are you missing your children being younger and needing you more? Or was the clutter like a warm blanket fir you?

I fully understand you; I have sentimental connection to things I'd never get rid of, no matter how silly anyone would say it is.
