Today, I walked in on my daughter lighting candles around one of her friends, who'd fallen asleep while her other friends chanted something in a different language. They still won't tell me what they were doing. FML

Summoning demons is a healthy developmental step in their lives that teaches them how to make friends, how to make contracts, and how to make sure everyone in a relationship is abiding by their word. You can supplement this by asking them questions like 'what makes someone a good friend?' 'If someone is being mean, what do we do?' and other open-ended relationship questions to invite discussion.
