Spray it loud!

By klutz44 - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - United States - Winnetka

Today, I took my 2 year-old to a public restroom. I was just about to set her on the toilet when the automatic flush went off, scaring her and causing her to pee all over both of us. FML

While that might've pissed you off, it's part of being a parent. To be fair, it could've been a much shitter situation!

Looks like urine trouble! But sorry OP, those toilets can be scary. And annoying when they flush before you finish.

I've always hated those things as well. Never had that problem, though.

This FML made my day! Sorry OP, maybe you'll look back and laugh at this, I know I would!

Sometimes "urine" trouble no matter what you do or don't do!

My oldest was/is scared of automatic toilets. I've taught her to hang toilet paper over the sensor before she sits down. All of my four kids have been scared of/by then to some extent, but I've never been peed on over it. That stinks.

Those things are a waste of water. I've been on them before and had them flush 3 times before I was even done.

I learned a few tricks - (1) carry post-its in your purse to cover the sensor, (2) use your hand to block the sensor, or (3) if the kid is small enough that you need to hold them up on the toilet, straddle the toilet and stand behind the kid so that you block the sensor

Those damn robot toilets are the devil! This happened to my daughter when she was 3 and I was wearing flip flops... Now that she is almost 6, she still asks me every time we go into a public restroom if it's a robot toilet or a regular one like at home. Pro-tip for parents of young kids: cover the motion sensor before they sit down with a square of toilet paper [I put a dab of spit on the square to get it to stick to the wall/sensor plate] and don't remove it until the kid has exited the stall.
