Today, I took my 2 year-old to a public restroom. I was just about to set her on the toilet when the automatic flush went off, scaring her and causing her to pee all over both of us. FML

I used to have to put my hand over the sensor so it wouldn't flush when my daughter was little. It scared her for several years

Carry Post-It Notes and put them over the sensor. It helps a lot! But shit happens - literally

Poor little thing, I feel terrible for her. Those damn auto flush toilets will surprise you at the worst time. Hopefully it will not hinder her ability to use the potty at stores.

I took my younger cousins to the movie theater once, she ran out the bathroom crying because the automatic toilet scares her. Now whenever we go somewhere with automatic toilets she refuses to use it. Lol

My niece was afraid of loud noises and was always scared of the flushing of the toilet and the hand dryer. They're usually so loud and they just echo in the bathrooms. She hated being in public bathrooms because of that. She'd stand there plugging her ears.
