Today, my girlfriend missed our date, so I angrily texted her, telling her if she can't make our dates then we should break up, and generally telling her off. Five minutes later I get a picture of her sleeping in a hospital bed from her mother, saying, "Shut the fuck up, she had appendicitis." FML

Today, our dog became ill. My mom wasted no time attending her every needs and became very distressed. When I had appendicitis a few months ago, my mom told me to “sleep it off” and a friend had to take me to the hospital. She only called once to bitch at me for “doing this on purpose to make her feel bad.” FML

I can understand your anger if she had skipped out on you several times before, and this time was the "straw that broke the camel's back". However, if she's never missed a date before I don't understand why you would react so violently and not ask for her side of the story. I'm sorry about the appendicitis though that sucks...

If I was with someone and they didn't show up for our date, my first instinct would be to make sure they're okay, not to tell them off. OP acted like an insecure, immature, dick.
