Stiffed

Today, my old boss stiffed me on a large sum of money he owes me. I tried to contact him and point out that he legally owes me the money, but he won't answer his texts or his phone, and the managers say he changes the subject whenever they bring it up. FML

I think you can go ahead and sue without people freaking out and saying everyone sues too much. It's justified

I would take legal action, your boss is an asshole

Go to the court house, explain what's going on and you can have him sued or arrested

threaten legal action first and wait a few days then contact a lawyer, call him and tell him you got a lawyer

You should take him to church and tell him that the LORD forgives any misdeed. Pray with him and show him the power of community. then after the sermon mayyybe you run into some big guys that you allegedly hired to be there and maaaayybe they have blunt instruments. Maybe you teach this guy a lesson that God may forgive but he can't do shit to save someone who owes you money. God bless

I really can't believe this was downvoted, and if you did downvote it then you should be ashamed of yourself. it's called the first amendment. I agree with you, and really can't believe this is what America is coming to. if u aren't American well sorry but others still need to respect ur opinion.

#43, it might be their first amendment right to say that, but it's also my right to seriously judge them for that.

#55. As is your right to judge me, I would kindly like to extend to you the knowledge that it was a joke, just in case your underdeveloped brain couldn't grasp the concept. ^----My first amendment right in action

Or you just realised you were being an asshole and tried to save yourself with "it's just a joke"...

I can see you're in Australia too, go to Fair Work. They'll sort it out for you and get what your owed

The fair work ombudsman will handle this at no cost (I've had to do that) IF it's employment underpayment. If it was a loan, I've posted below what to do :)

if you are right and he does legally owe you, then he has to pay by law. remind him and ask the managers for advice. don't forget to remind him that he's committing a crime. good luck, and I hope you get your money.

Contact fair work Australia and the ATO, they will help you

Sue. You will win. And everything will be paid for.

Call Judge Judy and get the money your owed

Contact L&I they'll get you the money you'll probably will have to find a new job but that's probably something you're already doing

Get a lawyer and have your lawyer contact him. He either answers or you start a lawsuit and get what you're owed plus some. Win-win
