Stooooop!

Today, my mother resolved to never visit McDonald's again. Not because of ethics or health concerns, but because they charged her for extra barbecue sauce. She bitched out the man in the drive-through for a good five minutes, while I sat awkwardly in the passenger's seat. FML

I'm sure that the 15-year-old working the drive through is really sorry to hear that your mother is never coming to visit again.

That's a McRipoff.. not to mention McAwkward for you.

at our mcdonalds there is a sign at the drive thru that says something like "there will be a charge for additional sauces"

they have the best BBQ sauce though...

no, Burger King's BBQ sauce is way better than mcDonaldS.

Look, i work at McDonalds. They only charge for sauce after they give you the alotted amount. Otherwise, they lose money because you are just greedy. Your mom is a bit of a jerk for bitching out the kid in the drive thru, because it isnt their fault. They were just doing their job, even if it does suck. FLY for having a douche mom :/

agree 100%. I work at taco bell and people take handfuls of packets just to throw them away. I bet that's where most the money is lost.

Actually, it isn't up the the chain to decide how much to charge for sauce/mustard/ketchup/whatever packets. The owner of the store in question does that. So one Mcdonalds or Taco Bell might charge and the next might not. Most of the time when I go to a fast food place, I don't even want the crappy sauce and they still give me 20 packets of the stuff. THAT is where money is being lost. Every store should be consistent and hold to the same standard, so both customers and employees know what to expect.

FLY your life? I can fly? Weeeee!

Actually, that bit about it not being up to the chain is only half true. In a franchise store it's up to the owner, but if it's a corporate store like the one I work at, all of our prices come from the top. We are required to charge extra for excessive sauce, or else it's taken like theft, we are letting money slip out of the store.

Well, where I live (France) where McDonalds is AMAZING, I ask for extra ketchup and mayonnaise for my fries (Belgian thing) and they are always happy to give me the extra ketchup and mayonnaise. Why don't they do the same in America?

dont mess with someones barbeque sauce!
