Suspicious activity

Today, I was walking my little sister home from the eye doctor. It was raining out so we were kind of in a hurry to get home. We get home and about half an hour later, the cops show up. Apparently, someone saw me walking my sister and called the cops on me thinking I was a child molester. FML

Some people are so quick to judge. Hopefully you explained everything to the cops and it all worked out.

LAWLZ. Post your pic. Seriously, some of the nicest people I know look like they could be weirdos.

I feel really sorry for u. Dumb moron calling the cops.

I'm sure that was humiliating, but considering it was your sister... aren't you a little glad someone was at least looking out? It's good to see that there are people out there that not only pay attention to suspicious circumstances involving children, but that they were ballsy enough to report it, too. There's really just no room for assumption when it comes to child molesting or kidnapping. If your sister were, in fact, walking home with someone else that she didn't know, wouldn't you want someone to call the cops then?? Still, though, I'm sure it sucked. But in the long-run, I think you should be grateful. No harm, no foul.

I agree. One episode of the "What Would You Do?" show had them stage a man kidnapping a little girl on a fairly crowded street. He grabbed her and dragged her off while she screamed, "Someone please help me, this isn't my dad" and almost everyone ignored her. It's a good thing there are people who are willing to help when they see something they think might be wrong.

Yes but there's a difference between someone screaming and a brother and sister going home in the rain together.

Just an assumption. They were at the eye doctor before. Unless there is a continent wide conspiracy to do weird experiments with only my eyes, it could be that she got for example those pupil widening drops which take a bit to lose the effect. Everything is a bit fuzzy afterwards. So maybe she walked a bit shaky and he supported her arm to help her hurry and prevent her from stumbling. Watching them from a closed window I can understand that somebody could misunderstood the situation. And better safe than sorry. After all it takes just a few minutes to clear the situation with the police. Well, unless the SWAT team broke through the door, slammed him on the floor and then arrested him without any questions.

Ugh. I hate people who call the police all because of their assumptions.

That sucks, but they are the ones that got their time wasted by some nosy judgmental neighbors.

So are all parents, brothers, and sisters mollesters? o.o

What the hell is wrong with Americans?
