OK, well honestly, **** all you guys that feel the need to hate on people that drive slowly. My car is an old cruiser and if I wanna go 60, I'll stick my ass in the right lane and go 60. All the other haters can keep hating and increasing their odds of getting pulled over or involved in accidents.
Well unless you gave consent to have your car searched, then he violated the Constitution and unless you tried to hit him or something, he should not have handcuffed you. So I would definitely go about suing the police department for violating your Constitutional rights.
Yea, dude...drive the speed limit. Why the hell were you driving 5 under in the first place? was the weather bad? (which is actually plausible, and if it was then kudos's) And #13 is right. Have some ******* sense! if a cop pulls you over (for 5 under!) comes up, and instantly tells you to step out, and then proceeds to give you a field sobriety test. That cop was an ass-hole, and just wants to meet his quota. (don't they all.) Plus in some states, the cops can't search the car or hand-cuff you without confirming the level of intoxication of the driver, you basically got abused; take it to traffic court and tear this guy a new one. (At least you didn't get pulled over while responding to the fire house during a call in your own car with lights on (like I did), Cops are ass-holes.)
well, i worked for a police department for a long time and theres no definite right or wrong in this situation. if you were driving in the left lane, for example, while the speed limit is 65 or higher, the police officer had every reason to pull you over. but probable cause to search your car is a collection of reasonable suspicion. so if he has reasonable suspicion to pull you over, then smells alcohol, or sees a bottle, or your eyes are red, it builds up to probable cause. you cant judge this one without the full story. the cop could have been wrong, but maybe he wasnt. dont hate on the cop who is trying to take drunk drivers off the street to make it a safer place for people we love to drive.
F*** the police. I can't believe how many people have never driven under the speed limit on this site. morons
I was once followed for three miles, and then pulled over for no apparent reason. HTe cop told me that someone had reported a car matching my car's description stolen. My car is a 12 year old dodge neon that shakes like a Chihuahua and had three different colored doors. I gave him my registration and ID, and said, "If I was going to steal a car, I wouldn't steal this one" Apparently, he translated that as "I have a Ferrari in my trunk" and he made me step out, hands on hood, and searched my car. I took his badge number and called the precinct. He was the father of a boy I had shot down for a dance at school. No joke. Cops suck.
I know it says he's doing under the speed limit, but here's my issue. Why is it that obeying traffic laws and obeying the speed limit immediately makes someone stupid? I've been riding in a car with someone else driving and, most of the time, it involved them bitching someone out because they're only doing five over or because they stopped at the stop sign. Obeying the law makes one an idiot, it seems.
#30, that's hilarious..

Sounds like the cop doesn't know the law very well (surprise surprise). Any evidence would have been tossed...he's a moron.
@#2: What? There are plenty of reasons to be driving under the speed limit: - it's dark - bad weather - you are unfamiliar with the territory/trying to find a place you've never been - you don't know the speed limit - you're car is impaired
