I agree. I added this word to my vocabulary when people would ask me to cover shifts but not do so in return. I've been so much happier since.
Actually, I think it's very sweet of you to take the time and watch the kids. It's good to give the parents a break now and then. Just don't watch them the whole cruise and you're good.

Because people love both being petty and drama and if there isn’t enough let’s stir up some by down voting and reporting legitimate comments.
It's because OP shouldn't have to deal with bratty kids on a cruise she paid to go on to enjoy. Not to babysit. There's a time and place to do nice things for people, vacation is time to treat yourself
Because OP is clearly not happy about it and her sister seems to be taking advantage of her availability

Say no then do what you want? If I was you I would take them and bring them to the kid free zone tell the parents "tag out" then peace out

Why did you let them bring their child if you were paying for it? I'm sure they have a day care you can drop em off at :)
I took it as she paid for herself to go
Pump them full of espresso just before returning them.
I would've told her 'hell no'. There is a babysitting service/area on every cruise ship I've ever been on. Let her pay someone to watch them. Don't let her ruin your vacation.
How were you not able to refuse? it is their responsibility.

Forced? Be honest, you allowed yourself to be talked into it. You need to stand up for yourself, then enjoy your cruise and let your sister and the asshole take care of their own damned kids while you have fun.
You paid for it, you could have just left and did your own thing before they did.
