Or after they did. They're not your damned kids, just leave..
#57 That's not the best idea to leave five children on their own...regardless if OP was the parent or not.
I'm with #57. Not leave the kids, but before they had chance just told her sister that no, it's her holiday that she paid for, and she isn't going to spend it babysitting her dragged up children. (of course assuming OP is a woman.)
#1, Yes that, or, if I was her. I would just walk up to them and say, "I left the kids back there I'm going to have fun on MY cruise. Go look after them or leave them I don't care. Bye!" Then she has fun. Then THEY would be forced to watch them.
Forced? Be honest, you allowed yourself to be talked into it. You need to stand up for yourself, then enjoy your cruise and let your sister and the asshole take care of their own damned kids while you have fun.
Exactly! OP stop being walked all over on, I know she's your sister, but what you're sister did is not what family does. I recommend bringing the children into their room (if they aren't already) and tell your sister that you're leaving in half an hour for the cruise YOU paid for, with our without her back (of course you probably don't want to leave the kids alone, but threats like that should scare them enough to come back)
Unfortunately, sometimes, easier said than done.
or had it announced that they need to come get their kids. they can do the walk of shame up to collect the "bratty" kids and do their jobs as parents. its not your job to babysit especially as you paid
Why would you put up with it? If you let people take advantage of you, they will. YDI.
Show up alone to the kid free zone all ready to relax. When asked where their offspring were, (it may take a while before they realise), tell them not to worry because you agreed on a real good deal with them involving letting the grown ups relax for a bit while they play dress up with mommy's make up and clothes. Mention that the boys especially took a liking so the father will hopefully see it as an insult to his manhood and do something for once. Perhaps even casually mention how you also used some of her most expensive product since you know, you are all family here. Gotta make her pay for treating you like dirt.
You can always throw her overboard.
or not far enough 81
This is Such a YDI. Just walk away. Just say NO. It's a cruse ship. The crew would make your sister take care of the kids. Next time, just walk away. Your sister had no problem doing it.
Don't most cruise ships have areas that will watch kids for you? Tell your sister to take her brats there, and go enjoy your cruise.
#7 is correct. All the cruises I have been on have a kids club. Stand up for yourself and tell your sister you are not a free child minding service.
It depends on the company that owns the cruise ship. Many of the bigger ones have childcare, but almost none of the smaller ones do.
Most cruise lines do have childcare but the child has to be 100% potty trained to be in the kiddy area. I learnt that when we went on a cruise with our then 3 year old daughter. She was almost there but not quite. There were private certified baby sisters that could stay with your child in their cabin, even if it was 3AM. They charged by the hour but I do recall it wasn't very expensive. I would have sent the sister that bill.
well stand up for yourself. you paid for it so you deserve to relax.
Just. *******. Say. NO.
Call your sister then leave the kids the crew will get her not you

You paid for it, you could have just left and did your own thing before they did.
