Take a hike

Today, I went on a camping trip. I already had a bad back, and then the guy in charge took us on a hike. My shoes were too small, and now I'm hobbling around with a bad back and foot. Every time I limp, it hurts my back, but if I walk normally, it hurts my foot. FML

This is why I don't like camping.

I can't help wondering how it was that OP went camping/hiking with shoes that are too small. If OP picked out and bought shoes that are too small then to that degree YDI. If OP had no other option in footwear and couldn't afford properly fitting outdoor shoes then FML for them.

ydi when you wear shoes that are too small. even just basic walking would cause issues with your feet.

Let me get this straight, you brought shoes that don't fit on a camping trip & then used them to go hiking while you're injured? I can't find a single smart decision in this story. Ydi.

why didn't you wear shoes that fit? :/

Limp with your bad foot facing forward and your good foot 90 degrees to the side and stand straight up, it should help you if this happens again OP.

My only thought at the moment is "why were you wearing shoes you knew were too small?"

If OP is from Britain, they could have been forced to go on the DofE expedition (I'm on the mobile app so I can't see the location)

I've done DoE, firstly it's a voluntary thing, no one can force you two to do it. Secondly you should know it's a hiking expedition, and even if you do gold it's only 18-22 kilometres a day, there's no way you would just be sat in your tent. Also a big part of the qualification is knowing what's appropriate and being prepared with the right equipment, which included correctly fitting shoes

Hate to say it but YDI, could've stayed home until your back got better :-/
