anyone should get this fml unless you don't know the definition of perforated then i suggest investing in a dictionary...
Believe me, this is an FML. I have to explain most work days the answer to that question, it's not hard to figure out. Do you see your goldfish there in the tank marked COLDWATER? Now notice how the "Nemos" are not even tropical fish, where it would be too cold in your goldfish tank, but they're freaking labelled marine! Marine means sea! You're a grown man! The perforated divider thing would have taken all my willpower to not call them an idiot to their face.
It's precisely why I will not work in a pet shop, and specifically a fish shop. My username kind of explains why I get this FML. If I worked in such a store I'd end up having to take a hellish amount of time off to recover from the stupidity of others. I sure as hell wouldn't sell any fish. The reason being that 90% of the people buying a fish have NO ******* clue what that species requires in terms of waer parameters, feeding, decor ( amount of cover and hiding areas ect ) and compatibility with other species. And most importantly, ******* tank size. That has to be the biggest hair puller of them all >.< No sir, that 2 inch goldfish is not to be kept in anything under 40 gallons because in the next few years it will become 12-14 *inches* long ( get a tape meaure and measure it out ) and require ALL of that space to actually ******* grow and live in. So you'd have to buy a large tank anyway, in which case get it now and save yourself the cost and bother. Yes madam that betta does in fact reuire more than 1 gallon of water to live in, strangely enpough they have never lived in minuscule puddle all year round. You know the secret? ******* RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING. How hard is it? The biggest killer of fish is pure laziness. They are specialised creatures, from the ,ost delicate marine coral down to the most humble guppy or goldfish. FYL OP, you have more paitience than I ever will for that special breed of idiocy.
I think the comment page is an fml in itself, apparenty it takes a pet store worker to know what "perforated" means or that saltwater and freshwater fish can't live in each others environments, people are dumb and are due for an IQ check followed by euthanasia for low scores
This seems more like something for "Not Always Right" than FML.

What's not to get? A perforated tank divider is a fish tank divider with holes in it, thus defeating the purpose of separating different kinds of water. They're used to separate fish that would usually fight each other. Since water molecules are obviously a lot smaller than fish, they would get through the holes. Personally, I wouldn't want to sell anyone an animal if they didn't know the name of it. I think there's actually something that says pet store employees can refuse selling an animal if the person wanting to make a purchase seems incompetent enough, because it would result in the death of the pet.
Shoulda smacked a bitch.
