Today, I wanted to use my gift card for a liquor store. I went to pay the cashier, who said he needed to see my license. I gave it to him, along with my gift card. After paying, he asked me if I wanted him to cut it up, since the card was now worthless. I said yes. He cut up the wrong card. FML

Today, I found a credit card at my job. As store policy goes, we have to cut up lost cards immediately after finding them to protect the cardholders. As I grab the scissors and cut, my manager calls out, "Has anyone seen my credit card?" FML

Today, at work as a cashier, a guy came up with a cart full of stuff and it took me 10 minutes to ring it all up. When I told him his total, he felt his pockets, said, "Oh shit, I forgot my wallet!" and walked off. He left about 15 bags worth of things for me to put back. FML

Today, my man got arrested for starting a fistfight with a cashier who wouldn't let him smuggle out groceries without paying. It gets worse; two weeks ago he got arrested mugging a guy at a gas station, and he's still on bail. FML

#4: Actually, the cashier is required to hold the license in their hands and examine it closely to make sure it isn't counterfeit. Most licenses have a watermark that reflects when held the right way, this is why they are supposed to actually hold it in their hands. So, in short: shut up, you have no idea what you're saying. As for the OP, sucks dude. I hope you're getting the cashier to pay for it!! :/

Huh! Did you mean your driving licence? And he cut that up? Well, he needs to do all the admin for you, to sort that out! At least... This reminds me of the day I was in a pub (in Hampton I think)... I needed some change. I went up to the barman handed him a fiver (5 pounds) and said, "Can you split a fiver?". He said, "Sure!" then promptly ripped it in two and handed it back to me! He was not a Brit and didn't understand "split".... *SIGH* (Not really my FML as it happened about 8/9 years ago! So it ain't current...)
