I had whooping cough twice when I was young, for about... Oh, I dunno... A DAY. For one thing, cool air helps, and for another, there's medicine. It tastes of bananas. I liked it so much I'd have drunk it for fun. I'm totally baffled by all you people who had it for bloody ages - what kind of health care do y'all have?
Lucky you. Sounds like a false diagnosis, or you were already on antibiotics so the bacteria didnt have time to establish. Or maybe you're just superman. Whoopdy doo. My mother was diagnosed yesterday - she's been consistent with vaccinations for me and my siblings and herself. She's even had the flu shot for this year. But she's been coughing for about a month because at first the doctors just thought it was a bad cold. It can all depend on the strain and the persons particular health conditions. People are totally wrong though - getting whooping cough at age 15 up isnt always a sign that you didnt get vaccinated. Just that it didnt give you immunity for the long term. Its like many illnesses - most antibodies dont stay in our blood forever. Even chicken pox immunity can 'fade' over time.

Whooping cough was going around at my work a few months ago. Further proof that I teach in a slum.
We had an outbreak of "the whoop" at my school last year. We made the news. It's no biggie. Get better.
I have whooping cough atm too :( annoying but tolerable
No cure? Are you going to the veterinarian for your care? An ordinary Z-pak will cure pertussis (whooping cough), but the cough will linger for weeks. Is that what you're referring to?
I know whooping cough sucks, but a week of it is NOTHING. I've had it chronically for 4.5 years. It comes and goes, and it sucks every single time. I understand how you feel, but try years of it before complaining.
get vaccinated people...

Sounds like #6 has it. Nearly eradicated in developed nations since the 1970s, whooping cough is apparently on the rise again because modern parents are all sociopaths/brave protectors of precious snowflake. Go, parents!
Or a six month old baby.
