I am an electronic engineer. I have known other engineers in my career who were far more comfortable dealing with machines than people - Especially the messy parts like dating… I have read that engineers and accountants sometimes go into the field they do because they are more comfortable with machines or numbers or computers than people. I acknowledge that is a part of my personality, but human interactions like love and family are ultimately more rewarding. “You have to put yourself out there” as they say while at the same time taking reasonable care to not go overboard.
