Today, I got into THE party of the year. Too bad it was the party my daughter was throwing while her father and I were out of town. FML

Time to give her THE grounding of the year.

Sounds like your daughter still needs a babysitter. I hope next time you send her to stay with a friend or relative.

Well I don't think a party will happen anytime soon with that surprise arrival..

I love the way this is written. Hope ur house isnt too messed up now. I also, as a party person, hope the daughter had fun while it lasted. She probly wont see the loght of day outside of school for a while

Look on the bright side, well, no there is no bright side. That's a paddlin'.

You were out of town and at the party that your daughter was throwing while her father and you (her father) were out of town? That makes no sense at all.

They came back while the party was going on. Is it that hard to understand?

Am I the only one wondering why the mom is excited about a high school party?

Most likely, yes... You're the only one wondering that...

She wasn't, it's just sarcasm. The FML's tend to be funnier when they have a twist.

I guess we are about to see a fml saying. today I was caught by my parents throwing the party of the year fml lol

Honestly, I don't think it's such a big deal, isn't it fairly common for teenagers to throw parties at home when their parents are gone? I know I did. My mom even expected me to, when she went away for a holiday she would even leave a crate of beer "in case you have some people coming over". Of course, our silent agreement was that the house would be clean without any trace of the party by the time she would come back. My mom raised me with the idea that it's perfectly normal for teenagers to explore, have fun and do things that they don't inform their parents about, but also with the idea that freedom comes together with responsibility! I never did any stupid shit, when I threw a party everyone would behave reasonably and get home safely. (Now I'm not saying you shouldn't punish her for this, especially if you explicitly told her not to throw a party and she broke that rule, but I wouldn't worry too much either, unless you saw her behaving irresponsibly at the party. If she's not mature enough to make sure the kids invited are safe and the house is clean, then she's not old enough to host parties.)
