Unfortunately.
I used to explain to my son that the world is not really like the movies or the news. It’s the extraordinary and unusual that make it to the screen. I believe that also applies to FML and the internet in general. People making good choices does not usually lead to drama and humor. The selection process makes the unusual, the stupid, and the downright cruel stand out in what we see and read. I still believe that most people do their best to make good choices; but I certainly agree there are some idiots, A-holes, and jerks out there that inspire a lot of FML’s. It’s also important to remember that be it FML, Dear Abby or whatever - Only one side is presenting the case and they have a very human tendency to try to make themselves look like the “good one” or the “victim”. I always try to read between the lines and try to understand what is likely to have really happened, not just the things OP has told us about. Many times OP was probably genuinely wronged, but sometimes they probably caused their own problems.

Had you somehow also not already discovered the rest of the internet?
